Titanium pentoxide (ti305) belongs to orthorhombic system with density of 4.6g/cm3 and melting point of about 1760 ° C. ti305 is a relatively stable compound in low-cost series of titanium oxides. It has metal like properties and high conductivity at room temperature. Compared with precious metal electrode materials, ti305 has low price and strong acid and alkali corrosion resistance, so it can be used as electrode material to replace precious metals. Ti 305 is a non stoichiometric compound. The ratio of Ο / Ti can vary from 1.66 to 1.70. It contains a large number of oxygen vacancies. The concentration of quasi free electrons is high, and its resistance can change with the change of atmosphere. Therefore, it is a potential oxygen sensing material.

Titanium pentoxide crystal has been widely used in vacuum coating materials for optoelectronic devices. Because of its stable evaporation process, it has been widely recognized in the industry. At present, it has replaced titanium dioxide as the main application material in high refractive index film materials. However, titanium pentoxide, which is widely used in the industry, is a granular crystal with the common specifications of 1-3mm and 3-5mm. However, the granular titanium pentoxide must be melted before coating, which greatly affects the efficiency of coating and increases the production cost of coating. At the same time, impurities are easily introduced into the granular titanium pentoxide in the preparation process, forming a large number of pores, and there are relatively different oxygen content substances, which affect the purity and quality of the coating.

 


Corrosion resistance of titanium pentoxide: titanium is a very active metal, its equilibrium potential is very low, and its thermodynamic corrosion tendency in the medium is large. But in fact, titanium is very stable in many media, such as oxidizing, neutral and weak reducing media. This is because titanium and oxygen have a great affinity. In air or medium containing oxygen, a dense, strong adhesion and inert oxide film is formed on the surface of titanium to protect the titanium matrix from corrosion. Even due to mechanical wear, it will self heal or regenerate quickly. This indicates that titanium is a metal with strong passivation tendency. When the medium temperature is below 315 ℃, the oxide film of titanium always keeps this characteristic. In order to improve the corrosion resistance of high titanium in chemicalbook, oxidation, electroplating, plasma spraying, ion nitriding, ion implantation and laser treatment were developed, which enhanced the protection of titanium oxide film and obtained the desired corrosion resistance. A series of Ti Mo, Ti PD, Ti Mo Ni corrosion resistant titanium alloys were developed to meet the needs of metal materials in the production of sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, methylamine solution, high temperature wet chlorine gas and high temperature chloride. Ti-32 Mo alloy was used in titanium casting, ti-0.3 mo-0.8 Ni alloy was used in the environment where crevice corrosion or pitting corrosion often occurred, or ti-0.2 Pd alloy was used in local parts of titanium equipment.
