Magnesium fluoride optical coating material is an important raw material in the field of optical applications. As an antireflective coating for optical devices, it is widely used in lens imaging optical system, laser element and window to improve the performance of antireflection, reflection, light splitting and filtering. It is not only widely used in optics, optical instruments, optical fiber communication, laser technology, integrated optics, cold light source and other high-tech fields, but also has been used in photochromic pigments, automobiles, communication equipment, toys, handicrafts and other industries. Single layer MgF 2 film can be used as antireflection coating on the surface of optical glass. Because its refractive index is lower than that of optical glass (1.52), the reflection of incident light at the upper and lower interfaces of the film has the same phase change. Therefore, if the reflection wavelength of the incident light is equal to one fourth of the optical thickness of the incident light, then the reflection wavelength of the incident light is equal to one fourth of the incident light. For example, if a single layer of MgF 2 is coated on the glass with refractive index of 1.52, the reflectivity of the central wavelength decreases from 4.2% to 1.3%, and the reflectivity is 2% smaller in the visible light (450-760nm).
